What we do
Natural Parenting provides a way of life for parents and children. Natural
Parenting parents create a loving and enjoyable family environment and provide
their children with the best resources they can to help their children to develop
into healthy, intelligent, and physically competent adults. Children thoroughly
enjoy the attention they get from their Natural Parents, and their parent's
love, and planned educational attention, is likely to result in the children
being Gifted and Talented.
Natural Parenting is a way of thinking about parenting that is as natural as the
earth, and as splendid as the sky.
Almost any parent can easily learn the Natural Parenting techniques. After all,
they are only natural.
Our history
Natural Parenting began when founder, principal, teacher and author, Peter Rowan, made
friends with an apparently autistic child in South Africa in 1970. Peter thought
the child was actually more intelligent than at first appeared to be the case.
That meeting began a life long research project to uncover the reasons why some
children and adults are more intelligent, happier, healthier and more physically
fit than others. Peter's research uncovered the astoundingly simple fact that
parents only had to provide the right natural environment for their child and
the child's intelligence, fitness, health and joy of living could improve
enormously.
By looking into the work of social and evolutionary scientists Peter was also able to establish the obvious fact that, due to at least a
minimum of successful parenting, the human species had survived for around two
million years. Not only had humans survived but they had gradually developed
higher order social and scientific skills. Sometimes mistakes had been made and
human society was set back, some groups were even destroyed due to mistakes, and sometimes great
advances were made.
While distilling the important factors that positively
enhanced human life Peter was able to establish that Natural Parenting that took
proper account of the need for body nourishment, loving relationships, physical
development and intellectual development, provided the ideal basis for the
development of highly competent and happy children. It is self evident,
of course, that highly competent and happy children grow into highly
competent and happy adults. It is this knowledge of past natural and successful parenting that
has build the foundations of today's Natural Parenting ideals.

parenting techniques by attending Natural Parenting classes and lectures, having
private interviews, and by reading Natural Parenting books and other
publications. As the Natural Parenting team grows we can expect to see more
